POCKET CLIP

SureFire is one of the leading outdoor flashlight companies, but they don’t always provide a convenient way to carry their products.

In response, I designed and sold a pocket clip that enables users to easily carry their flashlights. I also designed a lanyard system that allows users to attach those lights to their hands, which improves control during two handed tasks. I conducted a series of usability tests, which led to an effective set of installation instructions. In order to achieve reliable and repeatable manufacturing of the pocket clips, I machined a set of metal bending jigs. After sourcing the stainless sheet steel and partnering with a local laser cutting factory, I was able to manufacture and sell this product online during the summer of 2016.
