Port Seal
While taking a course on CNC machining at RISD, I used my laptop in a metal shop on a daily basis. I quickly saw that the magnetic charging port in my laptop was collecting dangerous amounts of metal dust. My classmates and I had to resort to taping over our charging ports to prevent potential damage. This frustrating situation motivated me to design a Port Seal to solve this problem. Port Seals protect laptops from collecting metal dust by sealing the charging ports. When a laptop needs to be charged, the Port Seal’s handle can snap into the charging cord. This storage system prevents misplacement and keeps the Port Seal ready to re-install.
