I was an early adopter of wireless charging but I was extremely underwhelmed with the available products. Every charger on the market looked and felt cheap. In response, I designed and sold my own; one of which I still use to this day.
In order to better understand the benefits and drawbacks of wireless chargers, I conducted a series of user interviews and tests on the subject matter. I asked 50+ strangers, “How do you charge your phone and how do you feel about that process?” I then showed them my wireless charger prototype, explained how to use it, and noted their responses. The words: unobtrusive, simple and quality kept popping up, so I used their feedback to make a more desirable wireless charger.
I settled on a low profile form, made with dark walnut and bead blasted aluminum. The finished product turns the mundane chore of charging a phone into a pleasant experience.
