Wrap Rockets are sold in KiwiCo’s online store.

Believe it or not, Lemurs were my original source of inspiration for this toy. While watching footage of Sifaka Lemurs hopping from tree to tree, I noticed that their arms looked like slap bracelets. That got me thinking about a toy that could fly through the air and grip onto objects when it lands. The only problem is that slap bracelets don’t fly straight when you throw them. Luckily, I knew of another toy that could fix this problem. I ended up attaching a slap bracelet to the front of a finger rocket. The foam tail acted as a stabilizer and the rubber band allowed for a quick and accurate launch. I used a hollow rivet to hold the slap bracelet in place, that way the rubber band could be pulled directly through the front of the toy. This design choice allowed for all the components to remain on the same axis which was important to ensure a balanced, even feeling, when launching the toy.
